Become an FFOI Citizen Ichthyologist

Conservation of fish and other aquatic creatures starts with us! Let’s gather and share data on the FFOI website before they go extinct, even before we realize they’re there. Every piece of data you contribute is invaluable for protecting ecosystems and the biodiversity of aquatic life for future generations.

Program

FFOI Program

This process begins with identifying priority areas for data collection. The research team conducts initial studies to determine species that need documentation and plans field trips.

The research team conducts expeditions across various regions in Indonesia, collecting fish samples, documenting habitats, and recording important information such as location, environmental conditions, and species behavior.

The collected data is processed and verified to ensure accuracy. This information is then entered into a central database.

After collecting and validating the data, the research results are published in book form, such as "Fishes of Kubu Raya".

This program begins by determining a list of species to be adopted by donors.

The program is shared through various channels, such as social media, websites, and fundraising events. Interested donors can choose the species or ecosystem they wish to adopt.

After the donor makes an adoption, the foundation issues an adoption certificate and provides regular updates on the status of the species, including the conservation impact of the donation.

The foundation regularly assesses program effectiveness, gathers feedback from donors, and makes improvements as needed to ensure the program’s long-term success.

The program starts by identifying endangered fish species and ecosystems in need of attention. The FFOI team goes into the field to rescue endangered fish from damaged habitats.

The program is promoted through various channels, including social media, websites, and fundraising events. Donors can choose the species or ecosystem they want to support, providing opportunities for the public to get involved in conservation efforts.

Once donors support the program, FFOI issues an adoption certificate as proof of their contribution. Donors also receive regular updates on the status of the fish they helped rescue, including information on the fish’s condition and breeding steps taken.

Secara rutin, tim FFOI akan menilai kemajuan program, memastikan bahwa upaya penyelamatan dan pengembangbiakan berjalan sesuai rencana. Umpan balik dari donatur juga akan digunakan untuk meningkatkan efektivitas program.

The program starts by identifying water ecosystems rich in local endangered fish species. The FFOI team ensures these locations are safe and ideal for educational tours, while preserving environmental sustainability.

This program offers tours to natural habitats of conserved fish. Participants are guided by FFOI experts who provide detailed explanations on ecosystem conditions, fish behavior, and the environmental challenges these species face.

In addition to enjoying nature, participants get the opportunity to engage in field activities, such as direct observation, data recording, and understanding conservation methods.

During the tour, participants not only learn about fish species but also the importance of maintaining water ecosystems. This program aims to raise environmental awareness and motivate participants to engage more actively in nature conservation.

After completing the tour, participants will receive a brief report on the species they observed and the conservation efforts undertaken.

The program begins with designing a concept that combines a classy gala dinner with a charity auction. Auction items include fish and water ecosystem-themed artworks.

FFOI invites various groups ranging from business leaders, industry heads, to individuals active in environmental philanthropy. This event is promoted through official invitations, social media, and personal networks to ensure the right participants are present.

On the event night, participants enjoy a gala dinner interspersed with a charity auction.

FFOI presents the achievements and positive impacts generated by previous programs to give donors a deeper understanding of the importance of their support for environmental conservation efforts.

After the event concludes, a comprehensive report on auction and fundraising results is shared with all participants.
